Great add-on
Running my stock Bandit XL-5 in the street and a dirt lot wore out the stock rear tires quickly. These tires wear better and provide better traction, not to mention they look great. Keep in mind that trimming foam inserts and gluing these to the rims is a mid-level hobby task, not exactly easy....

There isn't much you could do... just make sure your tires don't slide on the ground. Like don't drift your buggy, don't make peel outs or burn outs with your buggy... Even if you do, it'll still last a long time... at least, you change then every 6 months if you drive it everyday...but
When it comes to scale-size motorsport thrills, few hobbies can match the untethered thrills of R/C cars. Whether screaming across the asphalt or bounding over a dirt course, R/C cars offer enthusiasts an ever-increasing level of power, detail, and sophistication. In this volume for veteran and newbie R/C enthusiasts alike, ace hobby writer Robert Schleicher offers a fully illustrated guide to both electric and fuel remote-control vehicles. From selecting the right scale and tending to the power source to tuning the chassis and choosing gear ratios and tires, Schleicher covers all the angles that go into R/C driving. He also considers nitro power, painting and decals, off-road driving techniques, setting up road-race courses in parking lots, and even building off-road courses. Appendices include a glossary and information on clubs, publications, and suppliers.

Trophy Alternatives - RC Car Action
I do a lot of racing. Lately it seems like I’m at a big race every weekend. I am not complaining one bit. In fact, I love racing but one thing has caught my eye lately. No matter the size of the race whether it be a Nationals event or just a glorified club race there always seems to be a giant table of trophies. Not just the top 3 in the A-main, EVERYONE in the A-main and top 3 in lower mains. That is a whole lot of trophies!
It got me thinking, “How many of these racers go home and immediately throw these into the trash?” I started asking around to some professional drivers that get some new hardware every weekend. Unless it’s a win at a very prestigious event, they usually throw it away. Can you really blame them? The quantity would be overwhelming.
I would guess there still are a few people that like “bowling” trophies or small plaques but they must be a small minority. Don’t get me wrong; I’m all about rewarding someone for a job well done....
Spy Shots! EXOTEK Aluminum LCG Chassis for the ... - RC Car Action
On my last outing at SDRC Raceway in San Diego, Ca ( sdrcraceway.com/ ), I caught up with Exotek ( www.exotekracing.com ), which was testing their new LCG (low center of gravity) chassis for the Associated SC10 4×4. At 5 oz heavier than the stock chassis, it’s adding stability and traction to this SC that is sometimes considered “too lightweight”. Odd to hear in competitive RC racing where we strive to get our vehicles lightweight. In this instance though, heavier works. I had a chance to drive a stock SC10 4×4 versus one with the LCG chassis (w/identical suspension settings and tires) and there was a dramatic difference in handling. The weight of the new chassis aided the truck to generate traction in all sections of a turn (initial/mid/exit) and wasn’t so easily pushed around when it rubbed fenders with trucks heavier than it. When it came time to jumping with the LCG chassis, feel is improved and made take offs and landings a breeze.
