On October 16 the Team Associated RC8.2 buggy made its racing debut in the Philippines at the CV Off-Road Track in Quezon City for the 2011 RC Oktoberfest. Raffy Abello, who experienced radio problems during qualifying, started in the B Main. After the 30-minute final run of the B Main, Raffy Abello took the top position with a lead of 7 laps over the second position. This gave the RC8.2 the perfect opportunity to battle it out in the A Main since the top two finishers are bumped up into the A. As the A-Main finals began, Raffy Abello slowly crept up the field, having started from the back of the grid. Within 5 minutes, the RC8.2 was already leading the A Main. Throughout the 45-minute finals, the RC8.2 kept the lead for more than a combined 30 minutes over the seconnd placer Jordan Go, who was the National Champion (of the Philippines).
