My son is 9 months old and just received this toy as a gift. He LOVES it! It has a lot to entertain him with, and he just loves flipping the computer open and shut. He laughs every single time. I like that it has a few different settings that include ABCs, music, an interactive real life... -

My 9 mo boy has been playing with this every chance he gets since he was 7 mo. I also know the LeapFrog Learn & Groove(tm) Musical Table because my niece has it. I like this one better because it has a lot more going on. Both kids seem to like this one better if given their choice. I put the...

The scope of technology use is broader, and the challenges that have emerged are in sharper focus. A powerful feature of this volume is the addition of commentaries...
Grant helps school readiness programs
By Judy Rutkiewic
During these tough economic times, Worcester County Public School educators are increasingly applying for competitive grants to supplement initiatives that are benefitting our students. Recently, our school system was awarded $20,000 from the PNC Foundation to supplement our efforts to increase school readiness for preschoolers (ages 3 - 5) who are currently being served by the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program and by the Lower Shore Child Care Resource Center Mobile Science Museum.
The PNC grant will provide new resources to preschool educators, such as newly developed math and science educational materials, technology, and additional professional development opportunities. The beneficiaries of these resources will be over 250 preschool children in the Snow Hill Elementary School attendance area, three HIPPY home educators, two child care teachers, two Head Start teachers, and one family care provider.

Increasing the numbers of minority students with some level of pre-school readiness will address the foundation of the gap. Secondly, when students enter our district with some educational experience, if possible, academic evaluations should be used
