Customer Reviews:
  1. where's the automatic rewind?
We bought this tape player without realizing that you have to hold down the rewind and fast forward buttons to get them to work; you can't just push rewind and wait for it to shut off. My four-year-old can't tell when the tape is finished rewinding, and anyway he has trouble holding the button...
  2. Not Tuff At All!
I bought this product for my 3 year old son and the cassette door came off the second day we had it. It takes forever to snap the door back on, but it pops right back off at the slightest pressure. We have given up on the door and now just use the tape player without the door on. While...

Hutton: Phil Mason conflicted about move to 2A

MERRILLVILLE โ€” Phil Mason is a wear-it-on-his-sleeves type of coach. Turn the tape recorder on and he spews forth like a running water faucet.

This year, he seems both conflicted and excited about the upcoming football season at Andrean. He is excited about the kids, the team and coaching.

Conflicted about the past.

The 59ers have 70 kids out for the team. That is a healthy number for a 4A team, a very good turnout for a 3A team and an astronomical number for a 2A team. They are, rightfully so, enthusiastic about football at Andrean.

There is no real joy, though, about getting bumped down a class from 3A to 2A. Just a few demons from the past that lurk in the recesses of his mind.

The 59ers are, by virtue of being Andrean, one of the favorites to get down to Indianapolis for the state title game. Fort Wayne Luers, of course, is the team to beat. It has won the 2A state title three of the last four years.

Don't Make a Mistake When You're Driving ยป Speaking in public 101 ...

“With speaking in public, your audience knows if you didn’t rehearse.” Colleen Kettenhofen

All of us recognize that public speaking ranks among one of the greatest fears for most of us. Whether speaking at a meeting or before several 400, lots of people get nervous just anticipating giving an exhibition. A comment I frequently hear in my public speaking seminars is, “What’s the easiest method to overcome nervousness and gain confidence with speaking in public?” Here are some proven secrets many great public speakers practice:

1. Your audience knows if you are not prepared. They’ll detect subtle clues within your body language. 95% of the success is determined prior to the presentation. Rehearsing minimizes 75% of the nervousness. Nobody likes to rehearse. Instead, try to have an acquaintance or colleague videotape you. Yes, I realize nobody likes seeing on their own video either! Still, the camera will be your most objective ally.
