Heights Families Embark on a Grand World Tour
Children and their parents did not have to travel to far to take a Grand World Tour Friday night as the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library was transformed to resemble destinations around the world for its annual summer bash family event.
There was something for everyone as both young and old enjoyed snacks from various cultures such as hummus with pita, pizza, Chinese noodles along with music, dancing, Caribbean hair braiding, movies and more. Different parts of the library were decorated to represent areas around the world and children were given ‘passports’ to take around to the various areas to get stamps to earn prizes.
The children visited far away places such as Australia, Asia, the Caribbean Oasis, the European piazza, Times Square, the United Nations and even Antartica which is where two movies, “Rio” and “Rango” were shown throughout the night. In the children’s activity room across from the circulation desk, youngsters and teens grabbed the microphone and sang karaoke to their favorite songs.
