NEWBERRY -- Chris Simmons is sitting on a bar stool, talking about the weather forecaster's predictions for the night when her phone rings.
After an exchange of hello's and how are you's, she turns to Brad Hodge, her husband and partner in crime at Hodge Farm.
"Do we need more people for tonight?" she asks, although it sounds more like a statement than a question.
Hodge thinks for a second and then slowly shakes his head, saying no.
"Yeah we do," Simmons snaps back. "You told me last night we need people, and I found people."
Hodge shrugs his shoulders. "OK. Fine," he says.
Simmons turns back to the phone, "Hey, Mark. Be here by six."
As Simmons gives her newest worker details, such as what time to come and what to wear, Hodge leans against the counter where his wife is sitting.
"I probably have 10 to 15 people a night asking us how they can get a job," he says.
But who wouldn't want a job running through a cornfield scaring people? he asks. He loves scaring people himself, so he can understand his workers' enthusiasm.
