MURFREESBORO Trick-or-treating will take place all over Murfreesboro Halloween evening.
But one of the most popular destinations in recent years has been the Public Square. So dress in costume, bring your kids in strollers if you need to, and be prepared to gather sweet treats from downtown businesses. Hours for the trick-or-treating on the Square are 3 to 6 p.m. Monday.
Costumed kids wanting to get a jump start on trick-or-treating can visit The Avenue Murfreesboro on Medical Center Boulevard from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Trick-or-treaters can enjoy treats, balloon art and face painting at designated stations throughout The Avenue. At dusk, approximately 6:30 p.m., families can set up their chairs and blankets to enjoy a screening of Walt Disney Picture's "Gnomeo and Juliet" in the Central Park area of the shopping center.
There's also still time to take in some of the local pumpkin patches, corn mazes and "haunted" happenings going on through the end of October.
