Fun, entertaining, and educational DVD
My 3 year old loves this DVD. She was already learning here ABC's, and this DVD has sped up the learning process.The songs are fun to sing-along with, as well as dance to. And the pictures and little facts about the animals are great trivia. -
Help! My kids won't stop singing the songs!
I bought this DVD as a gift for both my 2 and 4 year olds. The younger one is just beginning to learn her ABC's, and the older one can recognize the written letters, but doesn't know the entire order yet by memory.I thought that getting a DVD that taught them not only the alphabet, but something...
Recognising and saying it one at a time...ofcourse i taught her that but with very little force...all she wants to do its read read read...
YES, it very well could be a sign of being gifted - the best thing to do, IMHO, is to give her a variety of things to read and look at(exploratory toys) but dont overwhelm her - you dont want to turn off that enjoyment of learning that she has.

With the preschoolers I babysit, I put shaving cream on the table and write letters in it. They love smearing it around and really encourages writing. If you don't mind the clean-up it is a lot of fun.

The two Spring Lake Park District 16 schools are piloting the established program, one of AmeriCorps’ largest in the country, within the district. The goal of the program is to help every child in the state become a successful reader by the end of third grade.
Provided to the district at no cost, the program, which is funded by federal, state and donated dollars, began this fall in Spring Lake Park.
Students who read below proficiency levels but do not qualify for Title I or special education services are getting a boost, thanks to the program.
As part of MRC’s services, students meet with a reading tutor 20 minutes daily during the school day.
