a cute twist on learning ABC's
I bought this for my son with some other learning resource toys. I want to give my son a early advantage before preschool. We havent played any of the actual games, which are fun, cute and educational. I simply have him pick up the letters or I tell him what to find. Overall its a cute concept...

Canal Winchester alumna Katie Bingmer will fulfill a lifelong dream at the next Ohio State University football game.
The sousaphone player will dot the “I” in Ohio while performing Script Ohio with the OSU marching band at the Oct. 29 homecoming game against the Wisconsin Badgers.
“It’s exciting that she’s getting to live her dream,” father Zack Bingmer said. “This has always been her dream; she’s worked hard for it and everything is going how she planned.”
The OSU marching band holds tryouts every year just ahead of the first football game. According to Katie Bingmer, most band members begin learning the music and marching techniques more than a year before tryouts, in hopes of getting a spot with The Best Damn Band In The Land.
“It’s a two-day tryout that occurs three days before the first football game,” said Bingmer, a biomedical major. “I attended two voluntary practices a week during summer between high school and college and spent a lot of time on my own, because it’s so hard. I have tried out every year still and they are so hard. Everyone has to try out every year, and us vets aren’t cut any slack.

As soon as you feel he is ready, get started to sing the alphabet song to your pre-schooler. Children are past pros at learning songs, whether from the radio, television or from humans around them so they will pick up the words of the alphabet song easily. There is no need to instruct them word for word.
An alphabet frieze is outstanding for seeing and saying the alphabet. Stick one on a wall where your child may see it comfortably. You may even make one yourself with a long strip of wall lining paper. Ask your pre-schooler to join in. You may casually name the letters but do not try to instruct them to him. He will pick up the names of one or two and that is sufficient to begin with. When you have the frieze ready you may point to each letter as you sing the song.
Play letter games. You may play ‘Where is the letter?’ Draw and cut out a letter the same size as the same letter printed on the frieze. Ask your pre-schooler to help embellish it. When your child is not looking, place it somewhere, partially concealed but where it may be seen and ask your child “Where is the A?” for example. Make a outstanding play of looking everyplace for it. When your pre-schooler finds it, celebrate, make a lot of noise, dance around. Help your pre-schooler experience the excitement of success.
