Xbox 360 game review: Kung Fu Panda 2
In this review, I will discuss Kung Fu Panda 2 for Xbox 360. Kung Fu Panda 2 is based on the animated movie by the same name. This game is perhaps the only worth Kinect enabled title playable. Where most games force Kinect controls on you, Kung Fu Panda 2 has somehow perfectly taken use of the Kinect controller. Read on the review to find out what the game offers.
To start of my review, lets discuss the setting of the game. Kung Fu Panda 2 for Xbox is set after the events of the animated film. You will find the furious five and Po being troubled by various gorillas, wolves and dragons. Po is entitled to find out what has gone wrong and stop the bad guys from plotting against the good. The story may not be that interesting, but it still manages to fit perfectly in the universe of Kung Fu Panda.
Further down the review, let’s discuss the gameplay. Kung Fu Panda 2 is mostly based on fighting, which means you will be doing a lot of Kung Fu while playing the game. This may not be the real deal, but Kung Fu Panda 2 still offers a lot of Kung Fu fun. Using Kinect, you will be performing punches, kicks, blocks and jumping against a lot of enemies. When you beat the crap out of an enemy, you can perform special moves to finish them off. If you somehow manage to stun your enemies, you will be given the opportunity to summon one of the furious five to finish the foe off....
Kung Fu Panda 2 – PS3 Review | Brash Games
Kung Fu Panda 2 the game is with us, and who’d have guessed it, there just so happens to be a Kung Fu Panda 2 film currently doing the rounds at your local multiplex. It’s like somebody plans these thing. Films and games notoriously don’t go well together. You may have a fantastic film with the perfect plot for a game, but that’s often not even enough to make an average attempt of a game. Usually film tie-in games are rushed out far sooner than they should have been, which ends up leaving a sour taste in gamers mouths especially if they’ve seen the movie.
Conveniently starting off where the film ends, in Kung Fu Panda 2 you must help Po, The Furious Five with the council of masters, Shifu, Croc, and Ox defeat looting wolves, bullish gorillas and uncouth Komodo Dragons led by Xaio Dan to restore Gongmen City back to its former glory, and more importantly save Kung Fu! The setting and theme works quite naturally within the Kung Fu Panda general story, it’s just a shame that’s where the fun ends for Kung Fu Panda 2.
