We bought this for my daughter's 3rd birthday and it has been a hit. Since then we have had a new baby in the house and she loves taking pictures of her new baby sister. She can operate it all on her own and if she takes her time it takes really decent photos considering it is a child's camera....

Sounds like you have a very smart little boy there! I would go with the best reviews, unless you can go to a store and see both of these cameras in person. If he can operate your camera, he can probably learn to operate one of these.

my grandaughter has a KID TOUGH camera (fisher price) how do i download the pics computer does not reconize it

Any digital camara that you can download pictures to a computer from, comes w/ a disk that you must install on the computer. Different Cameras require different programs.
